Top Off Your Supplies

11 Marcheshvan 5778

If you have dipped into your "war chest," make sure you replenish your supplies - the sooner the better.

Along with the ongoing siren tests, military drills and mock call-up of reserves, these reports may be warnings.

Of particular note, in light of yesterday's blog post, is the following:
An entire legion of Trump Administration envoys has been crisscrossing the Middle East these days on various errands. Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner left Riyadh Saturday after a visit in which he was accompanied by deputy national security adviser Dina Powell and special peace envoy Jason Greenblatt, who stayed on and arrived in Jerusalem Monday, Oct. 29 to brief Netanyahu on the talks the US envoys held in Riyadh as well as Cairo. Another American visitor to the Saudi capital was Treasury Secretary Seven Mnuchin. He landed in Jerusalem a day before Greenblatt and he too met Netanyahu.
Neither American nor Israeli officials are prepared to reveal the subjects of the US diplomatic shuttle. However, DEBKAfile’s sources have learned that Israel was asked not just to express public approval of the reconciliation process underway between the rival Palestinian factions under Egyptian auspices, but to embark on practical steps to this end.
And today...

Israel: A Light to the Nations?

9 Marcheshvan 5778

Before running around all over the world trying to teach the nations how to live, we have to first clean up our act so that we can be the shining example of Torah justice and righteousness for them to follow.

(But, maybe we will only be able to enlist "activist" Jews to really clean up our country when they can find a way to make money off the endeavor.)

It goes also for human trafficking, prostitution, pornography, the mafia, etc. Anyone who thinks the State of Israel is a Light to the Nations because of its technological prowess is either ignorant or out of touch with reality.

I have a message for all the Jews who claim to be building bridges between Jews and Christians for the purpose of teaching Torah to the world...

Avraham the Hebrew

7 Marcheshvan 5778
Erev Shabbat Kodesh
Parashat Lech Lecha

In this week's parashah, we begin to read and learn about Avraham Avinu and how he became an Ivri - a Hebrew - standing on the opposite side from the entire rest of the world, separate and apart from those who rebelled against HKB"H through idolatry and other crimes. We, the sons and daughters of Avraham Avinu, must continue to follow his example for all the days, including the "end of days."

In the first shiur of the new year 5778, Rabbi Yehudah HaCohen Richter speaks on the subject:  "Jews and Gentiles in the End of Days: Will They Unite as One Equal Family?"

The State of Israel: US Outpost in the ME

7 Marcheshvan 5778

Like a dog that just won't let go, the US won't let go of their plan to make a peace deal in the Middle East. And during Hanukah no less!!
US Vice President Pence to visit Israel in December
DALLAS — US Vice President Mike Pence announced Wednesday that he will travel to Israel and Egypt in late December at President Donald Trump’s request.
...The vice president will visit Israel during Hanukkah. He’ll discuss the prospects for a Middle East peace agreement in separate meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, according to the White House.
But, it's not just about a peace agreement. Even more ominously, coming as it does at Hanukah, it is also about ensuring that the West's Hellenistic ideal of freedom of religion continues to be respected here and that "from Jerusalem will go forth false religions."
Pence made the announcement in Washington in keynote remarks at In Defense of Christians’ annual solidarity dinner for Christians in the Middle East.
He said he’ll deliver a message during the trip that now is the time to “end the persecution of Christians and all religious minorities.”

What are they going to do when Mashiach takes charge?
Rav Ovadia told over that in the dream "In all of Jerusalem, there were only Jews והמבין יבין. And all strangers that were not Jewish were not [there], and were already expelled from Israel."  (H/T Yeranen Yaakov)

Misrepresentation of Rabbi Meir Kahane

6 Cheshvan 5778

Part of the darkness that is embodied in the month of Cheshvan is the horrible and tragic assassination of Rabbi Meir David Kahane, Hy"d ztz"l which occurred on 18 Cheshvan 5751. It is davka now that the klipah of the "Ger movement" is making another attempt to attach itself to the kedushah of Rabbi Meir Kahane's legacy - his seminal work Or HaRa'ayon.

Rabbi Kahane's chapter on the non-Jews as they relate to Eretz Yisrael is the strongest argument against "ger" as it is presented by the founders of the Ger Movement. Therefore, if they can somehow twist it to their favor, the threat of the exposure by the Truth will be averted.

I will do everything within my puny power to keep that from happening.

In line with that, I am republishing this blog post from over a year ago. Those who are still claiming that Rabbi Kahane "got ger" and want to turn him into a poster child for their heresy should know that we will also continue to fight them at every turn.

(Originally posted on 20 Menachem Av 5776)

For those unfamiliar with the false messianism of the "Ger" cult, I'll encapsulate it. Two self-described "Orthodox" rabbis, American olim, started a "movement" which they call "Ger" and claim it is based on recovered ancient knowledge, i.e. the "Torah of Shem".

In short, it claims that nearly every reference to "ger" in the Torah is referring to gentiles and even claims that the righteous Ruth, the quintessential convert, never became a Jew, but remained a gentile, i.e. "Ger." A blog post is too limited to get into this matter in great detail. For our purposes today, it's enough to address this blatant slander of Rabbi Kahane's name.

I owe who I am today as a Jew to Rabbi Meir Kahane. There is no Torah teacher I admire more. He was the embodiment of Emet and to have his name associated in any way with such a corruption of the Torah and Torah sources is something that I cannot remain silent about.

Unfortunately, Rabbi Kahane did not live long enough to witness the exponential growth of missionary infiltration into Israel or the tragic deterioration of what passes today for "Orthodox" Judaism. In 1990, he was invited by Vendyl Jones to participate in the First Noahide Conference, which he graciously did. But, the rabbi was addressing people he understood to be true Sons of Noah as described by our Torah and Sages and not the perversion of that ideal that exists today.

Those who today lay claim to Vendyl's legacy recently organized the Vendyl Jones Memorial Conference. It was essentially a "Ger" conference. Simply by virtue of his having been in attendance at the original, Rabbi Kahane's name figured largely in the pre-conference publicity and one of the lectures was dedicated to his contribution to "Ger".

That's really rather funny because, were he here with us today, Rabbi Kahane would be their most feared and intractable enemy.

A portion of that lecture given by "Rabbi" David Katz has been transcribed below. It speaks for itself.
...When it came time for the conference I was just kind of playing around with Meir Kahane, again it's the Vendyl conference and Meir was there and the 1990 thing so I talked to my good friend... so he's like Meir Kahane this and Meir Kahane that and, in fact, I'm only friends with this guy because I was teaching Kol HaTor Mashiach ben Yosef and he kept telling me Meir Kahane taught about Mashiach ben Yosef, too, so I thought...maybe he's alright. So, I bought the book [Rabbi Kahane's Or Hara'ayon] coming up to this conference. I don't know how you would translate it into English . It's not so translatable. The concept of light or the idea of light, I don't know how you call it... so, I started to research it coming up to this conference and I saw very quickly, I was looking through the Table of Contents, you know, where's the Ger, where's the Ger, there's gotta be Ger here, um, and there was.
There was a chapter about the non-Jew. And so, I opened it up and I did it pretty quick. I wasn't planning on hashing it out to that extent and I'm seeing, maybe he got Ger, maybe not, I don't know, this is, ...usually I don't get stumped by Ger stuff, but this one, he's got me. Literally, I'm not sure...maybe he didn't get it, he's wrong because everyone said he was wrong, he says he's right but we say he's wrong, but I don't know, maybe he did get it, I don't know, so I ruled in my own mind, he didn't get it, no, he didn't get it, he didn't get it and I gave a look again and ...I'll give it to him, maybe he got it a little bit, but he's not saying what we're saying because the difference is, this is where the teaching's gonna begin, Ger Toshav, whatever that is, can really go one of two ways, it's gonna be our friend the Ger, our good Ger, he's an awesome guy, you can call him all these different terms in the Torah, Ger Chasid and all your friendly Ger, and then there's your slave Ger, he's our servant, he makes us coffee, so I'm saying I think he's making slave Ger, [Rabbi Kahane's] not our friend. He doesn't know the Chasid Ger, he doesn't know him, so pewey on Rav Meir Kahane, right? But, he got Ger a little bit so I'll give him some respect. And I kept looking at it, and I just kept, you know, because he words it very difficult so either he really didn't get it or he got it so well,....

So, he started to win me over, because remember how many are getting Ger on this level? I say the Lubavitcher Rebbe...he gets Ger 10 out of 10, he is your best friend, Rebbe Nachman got ger 10 out of 10, he is your best friend, ...Rav Aharon Soloveitchik...the Ger authority of all time...[Rabbi Soloveitchik's book Od Yisrael Yosef Bnei Chai] is like the Ger Bible...when you get your Ger friends in Torah, it's a select company, it's a select company, not many people make my personal Mount Rushmore. ...so when you tell me Rav Meir Kahane is gonna be on my Mount Rushmore, man it better be worth it, alright, I'm telling you, you better earn your way up there because otherwise you're saying that the Gerim are slaves, this and that, we don't have that, alright? Our friends Rashi, Rambam, these are our Ger friends, alright, we do not pervert the Ger line. So, I was willing to even come here tonight and say that he got it just on emuna alone. I read enough about it, I live a busy life with all my other things, I'm not devoting that much time to this sefer, it's just not worth my time. He's Meir Kahane and then something changed. It's called a nice flight in the air so I had my eleven hours on Sunday, I was being kind of rough, I knew it was good and I knew I had what to talk about, ok, but I would give it a B+, ...which means he knew the sources and he was coming through, alright, and he was not a threat, and it would be interesting content for tonight...I mean he got a lot of things right, but not Ger.
After describing his 11-hour flight with a few jokes, Katz returns to the subject of Rabbi Kahane and seems to imply that after spending further time perusing Or HaRa'ayon, he came to a different conclusion...
I had this gap of time and I'm telling you it was bomb after bomb after bomb, and I think he's the world record-holder. He's my guy. He came through. Meir, Rav Meir Kahane, he is the Ger guy. He is the one. I'm telling you he got it on levels I've never, he gave answers to questions.... this guy got it on such a level all you can say is he even got the little dinky Ger or maybe Ger is that big as someone who gets the truth is gonna get Ger, go to Ger, and it wasn't so small and random after all. Anyone on a path of truth is gonna run into Ger and we see it in our lives and our learning. It's not an accident... The Ger is the whole Torah. It's the path to Mashiach.... The challenge is to unite these two visions [i.e., the current Ger movement and what Rabbi Kahane taught regarding ger toshav].
B"H, Rabbi Kahane can speak for himself through the works that he left behind. So, you be the judge.

The Ger Toshav: Excerpts from The Non-Jew in Eretz Yisrael by Rabbi Meir Kahane in Or HaRa'ayon, Chapter 20
___________________________

Although the following is not particularly concerned with Rabbi Kahane, I'm including it here since it is part of this lecture given in Rabbi Kahane's name and it will demonstrate for you just how 'OFF' this so-called movement is...
[Concerning the Yefe Toar - the foreign woman taken in war] ...those women are called Ger, they're kosher to a Jew, even the Cohen Gadol can and did marry those women. How many of you have ever heard of Ruth? She was a Ger. And she was not a convert and she married a Jew. And that child becomes a Jew. I taught this in England. The midrash Rabbah on Parshas Naso, which is one of the biggest collections of Ger Torah that exists says, if a woman sanctifies her womb with modesty and purity of the Jewish code of excellence, let's call it, she marries a Jew, that child is a Jew. That's what became of Ruth and Boaz which gave us King David eventually. I taught that in London and they're like, no, no way... he admitted it was true, but his fear was you're gonna promote intermarriage with that and I said, you need to be a little smart about it. I found a book in Modiin by a rav today who is popular... it is literally written there, in stone, that a ger toshav in a time of jubilee can marry a Jew. And Ruth was the example. So, I guess I learned it ok. ...Ger woman allowed to Jewish man. ...Ger is the fourth house of Israel.
It actually gets worse, but we're short on space here. To conclude, NO WAY would Rabbi Meir Kahane, ztz"l, Hy"d, "Get Ger"!! Or agree to have his name associated with it in any positive way or that his writings would be characterized as supporting it. I have no doubt whatsoever that every legitimate student of Rabbi Kahane would agree with me. And all of them will be provided with a copy of this blog post for reference.

A Hint of What Could Be?

Marcheshvan 5778

HKB"H was merciful to the United States. He took a US territory and showed the rest of the country what could be if things don't change. If North Korea gets a shot off, it will likely be to make an EMP across the entire country. And with an EMP, even generators won't help as all the electronics are fried.

I think all these long power outages across the western world with all these storms are a hint to what may be waiting in the wings. And this is the warning. Take the following to heart and if you can't or won't get out, at least prepare.

"Katzianity"

5 Marcheshvan 5778

I don't want to belabor this issue, but I can tell from a couple of emails that I received that it may need further clarification. For those unfamiliar with the teachings of Katz and Clorfene and who are reticent to accept the letter of the opposing rabbis at face value, an example of what is wrong with what I call the "Gospel of the Ger" is required.

I'm not the only one who sees common threads between this cult and one that preceded it by two thousand years. A righteous non-Jew coined the term Katzianity to describe "Ger Torah" (Katz's term). It started out with a Torah concept, but in order to appeal more and more to the masses and to gain a following, it went further and further afield from accepted Torah and halachah

Unfortunately, to many minds, opposition is primarily what gives it legitimacy. Today, Katz is being portrayed as a Trump-like figure, outside the mainstream and under siege by the "liberals" who persecute what they can't control.
John Jack Pring: "This struggle is so similar to the liberals doing everything to discredit Trump with hate an (sic) lies. They are doing everything to bring Rabbi Katz and Chiam (sic) down with untruth. to destroy us Ger."
Chaim Clorfene: "There is an amazing similarity between the corruption of the men against Ger and the corruption of much of the governmental officials in the U.S. When the lower gates open, the upper gates also open. When the lower corruption becomes perceived, the higher corruption is also perceived. The number one priority of the rabbinic establishment has always (sic) to stay in power and rule, with little or no mandate from the Torah. Many of them are masters of deception."
I hope the following clip will put doubts to rest - doubts regarding the accuracy of the charges brought against Katz and Clorfene. All I can say is, anyone who is not satisfied that they are deserving of condemnation after hearing this is not interested in the truth at all, but serves some other agenda.

So Close You Can Smell It

5 Marcheshvan 5778

A person can see something before he can hear it and he can hear it (usually) before he can smell it. By the time he can taste it, he is already in actual physical contact. I feel like we are so close to Mashiach now that we can smell it! So close that we can almost touch it!

Why are Eisav and the Erev Rav working so hard to unite us together? Because it is not unity, but SEPARATION that is the key to our redemption. That is what the great birur is all about.
"The argument of the nations here is that we must achieve unity and break down the walls of separation. Is this not fair and logical according the the false thinking of the worshipers of foreign culture? Is not the unity of all nations and the disappearance of the differences between Israel and the nations the goal of the Hellenists...."
"G-d decreed upon holy Israel that they must be separated from impurity and from the impure nations. The idolatry and foreign culture of the nations cannot coexist with G-d's Torah or with G-d himself."
Rabbi Kahane z"l, Or HaRa'ayon
In the beginning, Adam and Chavah mixed good and evil. At the end, WE are separating good and evil. Davka here in the final days before the Messianic era begins, all of the tests that HKB"H has set up for us seem to involve this concept in one form or another and now, they appear to be coming to their conclusion.

All of the anti-Torah and pseudo-Torah activities which we have protested and spoken against have served their purpose of bringing about a birur. They were the weapons in the war for the hearts and minds of Klal Yisrael. They have forced both the onlookers and the participants to make a choice - to unite with them in their kefirah or to separate from them and cling steadfastly to the Torah that we received at Har Sinai.

Mashiach will be arriving to receive the leadership of a nation which has learned how to separate itself from the evils of idolatry, false religions, fake Torah and unholy unity with the impure nations. He will be arriving to a people who have let go of everything - power, popularity, ego, materialism, foreign values - and remain connected only to HKB"H and His Truth.

Once we have proven ourselves worthy of his leadership by beginning the work of separation in our own lives and circumstances, Mashiach will arrive and finish the job.

If this is not the vision of redemption that you imagine, you have some serious work left to do and very little time left in which to accomplish it.

Our job until Mashiach arrives is to do the exact opposite of what the anti-Torah and pseudo-Torah forces are telling us. We do not become "one new man." We rebuild the broken-down fences and reinforce the breached walls and burn all those newly built bridges by adhering to  - and teaching other Jews to adhere strictly to - Torah, mitzvot and halachah. We already have all the tools we need. We just have to make use of them in the prescribed way.

An Open Letter Concerning the Teachings of Rabbis David Katz and Chaim Clorfene

October 20, 2017

For Public Dissemination

It is with deep concern and sorrow that we, the undersigned, feel compelled to make this public statement regarding the teachings of Rabbis David Katz, Chaim Clorefene, and the pseudo-"Ger" movement that has grown from these teachings. We do so not as close associates or members of a common organization, but as trained rabbis serving the Noahide public from across a spectrum of Torah traditions and perspectives, unified in this hour of need. Finally, we do so only after having consulted Rabbi Yoel Schwartz א"שלט ,who has unreservedly retracted any support of R. Katz or his teachings. (See his own statement attached.)

Rabbis Katz and Clorefene have developed a renegade halakhic theory of non-Jewish/Noahide identity that is cleverly marketed as “Ger.” This theory is becoming attractive to non-Jews because it promises them an identity that is claimed to be more legitimate than Bnei Noach or “Noahides” and somehow “frees” non-Jews from idolatry. Among their most strident claims is that all other rabbis teaching the traditional Noahide Path of the Seven Laws are keeping their students “in idolatry” (!) by not accepting “Ger” according to their definition of this term. However, their attractive packaging and self-righteous vitriol cannot cover up the truth: that it is a contrived, maverick re-definition of codified Torah concepts that neither they, nor any rabbinical body in our time for that matter, have any authority, right, or reason to alter.

None of the sources that Rabbis Katz or Clorefene have quoted or claimed as the basis of their “ger” concept (i.e., the Raavad or the writings of Rav Aharon Soloveichik, etc.) are new or unknown to the rabbinical community. Many are standard rabbinical sources. However, the theory they have built around these sources is bizarre, misleading, and contrary to halakhah. Accordingly, it was deeply painful, though a relief, to learn from Rabbi Yoel Schwartz himself that the note of approbation that Katz had obtained from him for “The World of the Ger” was deviously contrived: The aged ultra-orthodox rabbi, a non-English speaker, issued Katz a short, general standard note of approbation, such as he regularly gives to new books, without knowing all the details of the work. He did so from a place of trust, in the hope of motivating and strengthening the hand of rabbis reaching out to build Noahide observance. When he was made aware of the full picture of Katz’s ideas and motives, how his trust was abused, and how his original note was later lengthened and blown up to be a categorical support for all of R. Katz’s ideology, it brought deep angst to the senior rabbi.

What makes Katz’s and Clorefene’s teachings particularly dangerous is that they involve deeply complicated issues that require extensive background to grasp. Rabbi Katz is aware that many of his students lack the sufficient mastery of the texts and issues involved—mastery required to understand why his teachings are so problematic. When deflecting legitimate criticism of his teachings, he preys on that ignorance. Knowing that his followers cannot independently verify the accuracy of what he is saying, he resorts to rhetorical tactics such as these:

When R. Katz’s followers are asked to check his mistranslations using outside sources, he deflects this challenge by telling them that existing translations are unreliable. When presented with sources that contradict him, he simply accuses other rabbonim of “not knowing how to learn,” or responds with ideas that are unintelligible and thereby impossible to refute because they are impossible to understand. When we have asked his followers to verify his teachings with a neutral third party, R. Katz again resorted to the claim that “that person (the third party) is unreliable” or “doesn’t know how to learn.” R. Katz's responses often sound authoritative to his followers because they quote rabbinical sources and use Hebrew. When experienced rabbis then explain why Rabbi Katz’s answers do not make sense, he responds, “See, my opponents don’t know how to learn.” When they do gain familiarity with the Torah sources, even educated Noahides can discern blatant fallacies of logic in Katz’s and Clorefene’s 2 rhetoric: argument from repetition, moving the goal-posts, argument from authority, red-herring fallacy, appeal to emotion, and ad hominem attacks, to name a few. Whatever a challenge this can pose to veteran Noahides, no one suffers more from all this than those who are new to Torah.

This statement of ours must not be misunderstood as a personal, ad hominem attack of our own, Heaven forbid. It is painfully difficult for us to speak negatively about the work of any scholar earnestly trying to teach Torah. For years we held on to hope that Rabbis Katz and Clorefene would start giving their listeners a balanced perspective and, in the very least, commit to expressing themselves responsibly. Accordingly, several of us have each, to varying degrees, attempted to engage Katz privately to discuss these issues in a civil, respectful fashion (the blatant denial of this fact on his part is deceitful). Sadly, he quickly turned these private discussions into public spectacles, sharing our communications publicly, and childishly mocking his fellow rabbis who had approached him in good faith. He and Clorefene have engaged their followers in publicly disdaining and ridiculing respected teachers of Torah. Masking the cult-like aspect of the following he and Katz have created, Rabbi Clorefene ironically paints all the rest of the Noahide movement and its teachers as a “cult.” The Noahide organizations that they and their pseudo-“Ger” followers discredit have worked closely with the rabbinical community for years, with the common goal of shining the light of truth on the Gentile relationship with HaShem. Just as Judaism is taught with rabbinical sources, Noahism too can only be taught with those same rabbinical sources; they are both parts of one and the same tradition. These organizations provide the necessary platforms for this truth to be disseminated to the Gentile world.

While Katz and Clorefene may initially attract the love and loyalty of their listeners, this hostility ultimately distances those innocent souls from Torah and the Jewish People, undermining centuries of Jewish teaching in their eyes. When their followers see their role-models spurning and belittling the counsel of their peers and great rabbis of the generation, they learn to hold traditional Torah scholarship in suspicion and even contempt. What they would see, if their eyes were opened, however, are two scholars, utterly alone in their views, who will not engage in normal rabbinical discourse – all on account of a revisionist theory that contradicts foundational halakhah. It is akin to a marital conflict in which an unfaithful husband spurns the counsel of his professional, deeply-caring peers. Feeling cornered on account of his vices, he instead resorts to turning his child against the mother.

Although David Katz’s teachings contain some truth, they are mixed with complicated, difficult distortions, and tainted with egotism and hostile rhetoric. Rather than working to strengthen the bridges built over decades of work by numerous rabbis and teachers – bridges between noble non-Jewish souls and the Torah community – Rabbis Katz and Clorefene have chosen to burn those bridges with hostile and divisive rhetoric. As such, the teachings of these two men have become “a stumbling block before the blind.” Therefore, we strongly urge every G-d fearing person and lover of Torah truth to distance him or herself from the pseudo- “Ger” movement, David Katz and Chaim Clorefene, and their teachings.

A Closer Look - (Part 2 of 2)

3 Marcheshvan 5778

(See Part 1)

At the book launch last Sunday (15 Oct 2017) for Rivkah Adler's "Ten From the Nations," she introduced two Christian contributors - Kimberly Rogers-Brown and Dean Bye.

Who is Dean Bye? In her introduction, Rivkah Adler calls him a Christian Zionist and says that he "oversees an extraordinary project here in Israel called Beit Zerah."

Once again, despite the allusion in this book to "ten from the nations" (Zechariah 8:23) who are seeking truth from the Jews, having been enlightened to the fact that the religion they had been following was false, the non-Jew chosen to speak is a proud idolater still.

He is the Director of Return Ministries and the Aliyah Return Center (ARC) also known as Beit Zerah.

The Aliyah Return Center (ARC) - a branch of Return Ministries.  "The ARC is focused on building bridges between Jewish and Christian Communities."

Paul Wilbur, "renowned US Messianic Jewish worship leader," has this account to give of Dean Bye:
Several months ago I received a call from my friend Dean Bye, formerly the Canadian director of Christians for Israel. ...along comes Dean Bye with a project he has undertaken to help believers acquire a beautiful parcel of fourteen acres in the Galilee that will become a national meeting place for the Messianic youth as well as a welcome center for new olim (immigrants).

...As the vision began to take shape, two more ministries joined forces to launch and execute the vision; CMJ, Churches Mission to the Jews, and Tikkun, a Messianic ministry based in Jerusalem I am closely affiliated with as an international board member. So, when my friend Dean called and asked me to participate I immediately said ‘yes’....

Chaim Malespin (Dean Bye's "Jewish" son-in-law): "I believe that the disciples that are coming now will gain greater understanding of THE ONE NEW MAN...."

Dean Bye's Beit Zerah has gone Tommy Waller's HaYovel one better. Not only have they also established themselves a permanent base in our land where they are bringing idolaters to worship Yeshu and volunteer in Jewish venues, but they have partnered with the Jewish Agency to bring Olim to live in their place in the Galil where they will be in daily contact with Christians, fulfilling the Christian New Testament vision of The One New Man - Jew and Gentile as one, God forbid!

Some of the first new Israelis are calling the ARC their “first home in the land.” Almost daily, Christians from nations are visiting, some even staying on-site, while they serve in the work of return and restoration of Israel.
Jewish Israel: "Canadian missionary and "Christian Zionist friend" Dean Bye, of Return Ministries, uses the new testament mission “to provoke the Jews to jealousy” (Romans 11:11) to fuel his aliyah program and missionary agenda.

Does Rivkah Adler REALLY know what she is dealing with and who these people are and the danger they pose to Klal Yisrael??? Would she REALLY let this slime Dean Bye touch her if she did???

We can only hope and pray that the answer to both is "no." But, what is it going to take to clue her in to the fact that what she has done and is continuing to do is in direct conflict with Jewish law???  See here.

"Viral" Antisemitism On Its Way?

2 Marcheshvan 5778

Yehudit's Prophecy...
Antisemitism will rise to unimaginable heights.  Jews of the United States will be forced to flee like fugitives, because those who survived the weather disasters will not be able to survive the tremendous waves of hatred against them.
It's coming...

I received a link to the following video Friday afternoon. By the time Shabbat had gone out, NPR, Newsweek and the Jerusalem Post had picked it up. Today it's on ZeroHedge, Arutz Sheva and other sites. Tomorrow...

A Closer Look - (Part 1 of 2)

2 Marcheshvan 5778

At the book launch last Sunday for Rivkah Adler's "Ten From the Nations," she introduced two Christian contributors - Kimberly Rogers-Brown and Dean Bye.

It's worth taking a closer look at these two "Torah-returnees from among the nations."

Who is this "rebbetzin" standing in front of the ark in a Jerusalem synagogue eager to speak to Jews? It's Kimberly Rogers-Brown, a self-proclaimed Ephraimite, contributor to Rivkah Adler's book and a featured speaker at the book launch last Sunday.

Here is how she characterizes the book on her facebook page...

Yes, and this is the most dangerous time ever for Jews as the lines have become so blurred that many Jews no longer recognize who is the enemy and who is the true brother. But like I've said before these are the same old Christians no matter how they dress or what they claim about being "lost-tribes."

In Kimberly's own words from a "teaching" she gave to other Ephraimite-Christians...
G~d is calling His lost sheep, the physical House of Israel, to Him in these last days for the purpose of acknowledging who they truly are to create an unbreakable alliance with the House of Judah, the Jews. We all know that accepting Yeshua as our personal savior makes us a Child of G~d and a spiritual descendant of Abraham,....
The House of Israel was scattered for their disobedience to the Torah. Now, we must return to it....
Pay close attention to the next part where she defines "Torah" for Christians...
...To return to our Hebrew roots means to return to obedience to The Torah. Obedience to The Torah is the real end-times battle line.

The total difference between G~d's children and the children of Satan is our obedience to the Torah, the Word Made Flesh. Understand that Yeshua IS the Torah. The Torah is His Word and He was made flesh. Yeshua fulfilled the Torah and is our Messiah, but Christians denied and disobeyed The Torah just as The House of Israel did. Now, we are being gathered back. Part of this ingathering is in our return to obedience of the Torah.

...G~d expects His Hebrew children to keep the Torah, accept Yeshua as Savior and Messiah AND understand their physical roots. This can only happen when the lost House of Israel regains knowledge of her physical ancestry and the Jews accept Yeshua as Savior and Messiah. The two go hand in hand - especially during The End Times.
This is one of the chosen representatives for the people Rivkah's book is all about! This is a woman on a mission who inspired another woman to take on a mission.

I want desperately to believe that Rivkah Adler just does not really understand the true nature of what she is involved with or how dangerous her "mission" is to Klal Yisrael. If you read enough of the Christian treif Torah that Rogers-Brown is teaching, you can actually hear and feel the latent antisemitism just below the surface. Take this recent diatribe written by Kimberly to a Jew commenting to Ephraimites on Tommy Waller's facebook page...

Ridiculous, I know. None of the Israelites in the Northern Kingdom had yet been exiled when Yonah was sent to Ninveh. In fact, one commentator in the Artscroll Yom Kippur Machzor gives the opinion that one of the reasons Yonah was sent to Ninveh was because unless they would repent their evil ways, they would not be worthy to be used by God as the rod of His correction against the Northern Kingdom of Israel. Yonah knew prophetically that they were destined to exile the Northern Kingdom and he wanted no part of it. But, if you are a Christian, you never let the facts get in the way of your theology. They just make this stuff up in their heads and then tell it for the gospel truth.

However, don't suppose that their "Jewish brothers" will set them straight. Gidon Ariel, who was also one of "the four" invited to speak at the book launch and who is listed on the Amazon Books site as a co-author, responded this way to a seeker on his own website...

Noah: In One Word - Faith

30 Tishrei 5778
Rosh Chodesh Aleph
Erev Shabbat Kodesh
Parashat Noah

The one word that pops into my mind when I think of Noah is "faith." I don't think there is any possible way for us to understand what kind of unshakable, immovable faith it took for Noah to brave the doubts, scorn and criticism of his generation to spend 120 years building an ark to survive a global extinction level event (ELE) that only he saw coming.

I suppose one could say Noah's talk of a Great Flood to wipe out all living things on earth could be compared to the talk we hear today about Nibiru. And those predictions are not even as dire as what Noah warned about. However, I wonder if the population then had to also contend with an organized public disinformation campaign like we have today.

Any time there is warning of doom, people are skeptical and rightly so. We have to consider the source. There are a lot of crazy people out there who are just spouting nonsense. But, at some point, there will be evidence to point to if it's true.

In our case, there is mounting evidence that is becoming more and more impossible to ignore that something very strange, unusual and maybe even unprecedented is happening to our planet. These are the very words we are reading every day in the news reports as well as descriptors like "apocalyptic" and "Biblical."

I wonder... Has there ever been a time in our history when Parashat Noah was more apt than it is today, this year? Especially since Rosh Chodesh Elul when the sun darkened across Edom?

It is something to think seriously about as we enter the new month Cheshvan - the month in which global judgment came to the earth in time past.

"A Life Well Lived"

29 Tishrei 5778

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Maybe this one will make an impression.

Life in this world can be compared to virtual reality. When you are inside the illusion, it can seem very real. It can seem like the only reality there is since one is blind to the world around him while he is inside it.

But, the day comes when we "wake up" to that true reality and I'm sure it is a shocking experience. Better for us if we can keep this in mind every day - that this world we can see now is an illusion created for us to determine who will be worthy to enter and live in the real world that is to come.

Whatever This Is, It Isn't Torah

28 Tishrei 5778

We are admonished not to base our actions and decisions upon our own thinking...
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely upon your understanding. Know Him in all your ways, and He will direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own sight; fear the Lord and turn away from evil."  (Mishlei 3:5-7)
Rivkah Adler has explained many times in interviews that her goal with the Ephraimite book is to bring Jews into relationship with Christians. She expresses a belief that both Jews and Christians are part of one family and the Torah belongs to all. She admits her goal is to "build bridges" between the two faith groups.

And what sources does she bring to back her up? - "I'd like to think" and "to my mind."

She often refers to her lack of familiarity with the Tanakh, so maybe she never read the caution in Mishlei that I've quoted up above.

Seemingly as deluded as her Christian friends, Rivkah Adler seems to honestly believe that what she is doing and what she is attempting to do is "from God." But, how can that possibly be when it goes completely against Torah and halachah

Out of the 613 mitzvot, not one commands us to be a "light to the nations" or to "teach Torah to the nations" or even share Torah with the nations. But, out of the 613 mitzvot, there are no less than 18 which directly address idolatry by name - one of the three sins for which a Jew must die rather than commit.

From The Concise Book of Mitzvoth complied by the Chafetz Chaim:
  • To entertain no thought that there is any other god except the blessed God.
  • To make no idol to worship.
  • Not to make any idol to be worshiped [by himself or by anyone else], even for a heathen.
  • Not to bow down and prostrate oneself to an idol.
  • Not to worship an idol in any way that it is usually venerated.
  • Not to swear in the name of an idol.
  • Not to lead a town in Israel astray to worship in idolatry.
  • To eat or drink nothing from an offering to an idol.
  • Not to turn one's attention to idolatry.
  • To have no benefit from any decoration of an idol or from its ornaments.
  • To have no benefit from an idol, from its offering or its attendants, or anything done on its behalf. [Considering that this is the basis upon which Hayovel offers its services to Israeli farmers, that means no Jew may have benefit from the grapes they pick or the wine that comes from them.]
  • Not to intermarry with a non-Jewish person. [Interesting juxtaposition by the Chafetz Chaim.]
  • To have no mercy on idol-worshipers.
  • Not to pay any heed to a person prophesying in the name of an idol.
  • To entice no one in Jewry to worship an idol. [Enticing Jews to form loving relationships with idolaters is so close as to be right on the edge!]
  • For the enticed person not to relinquish his hatred for the enticer*.
  • Not to rescue the enticer if one sees him in danger of death.
  • Not to prophesy in the name of an idol.
  • Not to settle idol-worshipers in our holy land. [Har Brachah???]
Call this whatever you want, but don't call it "Orthodox Judaism." Orthodox do not pick and choose what mitzvot they will adhere to and do not throw parts of the Torah out because we are suddenly announced to be in a "new era."

This is a very, very serious subject, but it is being given very short shrift by Jews ignorant of the real Torah.

* מסיתEnticement to idolatry in Judaism is a capital offence under the Law of Moses. The Talmud distinguishes two types of enticers to idolatry - a mesit (Hebrew: מסית‎‎) is a Jew who seduces an individual to idolatry, while a maddiah is someone who publicly entices many into idolatry. An enticer to idolatry may be both.

The Law of Moses likewise takes a strong and non-compassionate approach to the enticer due to the offensive service of idolatry to which the enticer seeks to draw worshipers. The crime of the enticer to idolatry was so serious and dangerous that in some cases some legal (halakhic) requirements of due process could be relaxed in order to entrap the enticer.

In the Mishneh Torah of Maimonides the prohibition "Not to love an enticer" is listed as a negative commandment. (Source)

Avraham Avinu's Mission

27 Tishrei 5778

People tend to think that the world is the same today as it was yesterday or, even worse, that it is progressing from a primitive state to a more advanced state. The world that exists today is not the same world that existed in the past and I'm not just referring to the cultural environment. The world before the Great Flood no longer existed after the Flood and the world before the Great Dispersion and Confusion of Languages was changed forever in its aftermath. When the world changes, we change also. What was appropriate and possible at one point in time is quite possibly no longer true at a future time.

Excerpted from the Ramchal's Derech Hashem (II:4:3-6)...
...When Adam sinned, he fell from his original high level, and brought upon himself a great degree of darkness and insensitivity.... Mankind in general also fell from its original height, and remained on a degraded level where it was not at all worthy of the eternal high degree of excellence originally destined for it.
...Nevertheless, even in the time of his downfall, the elevated aspect that existed in man as a result of his true root was not completely extinguished. Adam was therefore not cast aside completely, and could still return to the higher level....
God gave Adam's descendants a free choice at that time to strengthen themselves and strive to elevate themselves from this lower state and regain the higher level.
The  Higher Wisdom, however, determined the length of time best suited for such an effort, and accordingly set a time limit for these generations. ..everything that involves effort must be limited in time.
The Highest Wisdom deemed it fitting that this effort be divided into a period for the roots, and another for the branches. The original effort would thus be that of the roots, while what would come later would involve the branches.
The human race initially had a chance to permanently regain its original state and rectify the spiritual damage that had been done. The proper procedure would have been for the roots and heads of Adam's descendants to first elevate themselves to the rectified level. Once this was accomplished, both the roots and their branches would remain in this state forever, since the branches always follow the roots.
The time provided for generations to function as roots, however, was limited. During this period, the gate was open and the opportunity existed for any individual to properly prepare himself and permanently become a good and worthy root. He would then be prepared for a high degree of excellence, appropriate for man in his original state, rather than that of a man in his fallen state.
Since this individual would perfect himself as a Root, he would attain this for his deserving descendants as well as for himself. They would all receive what he attained, and would therefore all be able to remain on the level and state attained by him as their root.
The period during which this was possible extended from the time of Adam until the Generation of Separation [when the Tower of Bavel was built]. During this period there never ceased to be some righteous people who preached the truth to the multitudes, warning them to correct themselves. These included such individuals as Chanoch, Mesushelach, Shem, and Ever.
Man's measure was filled, however, in the Generation of Separation. God's Attribute of Justice then decreed that the time when men could be considered roots should come to a close.
...God then scrutinized all mankind, perceiving the levels that should be made permanent in that generation's members according to their deeds. These things then became a permanent part of their nature in their aspect as roots. it was thus decreed they each should bear future generations, all possessing the qualities that were deemed appropriate for their root ancestor.
...it turned out that none of them deserved to rise above the degraded level to which Adam and his children had fallen as a result of their sin.
There was, however, one exception, and that was Avraham. He had succeeded in elevating himself, and as a result of his deeds was chosen by God. Avraham was therefore permanently made into a superior excellent Tree, conforming to man's highest level. It was further provided that he would be able to produce branches [and father a nation] possessing his characteristics.
The world was then divided into seventy nations, each with its own particular place in the general scheme. All of them, however, remained on the level of man in his fallen state, while only Israel was in the elevated state.
Even though it may seem that man was originally the same as he is now, there is actually a great difference. Before the Generation of Separation, man existed in the age of roots, and was dealt with accordingly. When this period ended, things were judged and made permanent, and a new age began. This is the age of branches, which still exists.
God's great love and goodness decreed that the branches of other nations still be given a chance. If they so desired, they still had the free choice to tear themselves loose from their own roots, and through their own actions include themselves among the branches of Avraham's family.
This is what God meant when he told Avraham (Breishis 12:3), "All the families of the earth will be blessed through you." Avraham was thus made the father of all converts.
[This, however, would require effort on the part of the individuals concerned.] Without such effort, they would remain attached to their own roots and retain their natural characteristics.
...God also gave the nations a last chance. ...If any nation would have then accepted the Torah, it would have elevated itself from its lower state. As it was, none of them desired the Torah, and their judgment was therefore sealed completely. The gate was permanently closed, never again to be opened
It still remained possible, however, for any individual to convert to Judaism. In this manner, he could still include himself in Avraham's tree of his own free will.
[This] meant that [the other nations] would have to remain on the lower level.... This lower state would never have been meant for man if Adam had not sinned.
...These nations still have the human aspect, blemished though it may be, and God desired that they should at least have a counterpart of what was actually appropriate for all mankind.
He therefore granted them a Divine Soul (neshamah) somewhat like that of a Jew, even though it is on a much lower level. They were likewise given commandments, through which they could attain both material and spiritual advantages appropriate to their nature. These are the seven [universal] commandments given to the children of Noach.
Excerpted from Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin's Insights in the Torah on Lech Lecha...
התהלך לפני והיה תמים - Walk before Me and be perfect. Publicize My Name in this world, as you have been doing until now. This may require you to meet and debate idolaters and heretics, to listen to their distorted views about God in order to make them aware of the truth. Such arguments could possibly taint your perfection. But strive to eradicate them completely, both them and their views, and you will remain "perfect," a tzadik of perfect faith!
ויפל אברם על-פניו - Abram fell on his face: Abraham's life goal was to bring all the nations to faith in the Living God. As is known, he would attract passersby by offering them drinks, and then some would heed his call to convert.
But, when he heard the new condition for conversion, namely circumcision, he was seized with trembling, for henceforth his goal would be beyond reach.  What fool would listen to him to undergo an operation on his own flesh? Abraham fell on his face in great anguish, like a man whose ship had sunk at sea.
This is what is behind Chazal's statement (Breishis Rabbah Ch. 46), "Before I underwent circumcision they would come and join me, but who will come now that I am circumcised?" God answered him:
אני הנה בריתי אתך - As for Me, this is My covenant with you. I do not need a lot of "converts"," who come to "look for God" among the food and drink, and who are unwilling to shed their blood on the altar of faith. It is sufficient for Me that you keep My covenant. I am content to have one believer like you, who goes through fire and water to sanctify My Name.
"If you accept circumcision upon yourself, then you and I shall suffice for the world" (Tanchuma, Lech Lecha 24). And although "The king's glory is in great multitudes" (Mishlei 14:28), those multitudes would emerge from Abraham himself, who was destined to become "father of a multitude of nations" (17:5).
והקמתי את בריתי ביני ובינך - I will ratify My covenant between Me and you. But do not fear that you will remain the only believer in the world. I promise that the covenant will also apply to "your offspring after you throughout their generations" (ibid.).
Jews are compassionate and they want to make it easy, give the Torah away to the nations. But this is not derech Hashem! You can't make it easy for those not born to it. They have to "strengthen themselves and strive to elevate themselves" like Avraham Avinu did. Without zechut avot, they have to do the same work themselves that Avraham did. It is unavoidable.
"...if you seek it like silver, and hunt for it like treasuresthen you will understand the fear of the Lord, and you will find the knowledge of God." (Mishlei 2:4-5)
"Silver" and "treasures" are not easily come by. They take a lot of diligent work and hard effort.

When the age of roots ended, so did Avraham's mission. It did not devolve to his descendants to continue it because the time was past. The time for appealing to the nations was over.

Today, wherever Bnei Yisrael live as Torah Jews, they exude a light which draws individual worthy souls to seek out their Creator just as Avraham Avinu did. As Ramchal points out, they must do the work for themselves, no Jew can do it for them. (That's the teaching of Christianity!)

The Jews' light is created by their limud Torah, ma'asei mitzvot and gemilut chasadim. It can travel through the spiritual worlds and ignite a spark within worthy souls that causes them to reach out for HKB"H who is always on the lookout. For each one, He personally designs an obstacle course which will prove their worthiness to inherit from their spiritual father. At some point, they will need to approach a Jew - only then should help be offered and even then one should "draw close with the right hand and push away with the left."

Earlier generations knew and understood these things much better than we do today. It behooves us to look to them for guidance. It is very easy to do the wrong thing with the best of intentions.

With regard to the nations' obligations in the Seven Laws, the internet has made it possible to communicate this knowledge and spread it throughout the world without the need for any Jew to take away from his Divine or communal obligations or to engage with the nations on a personal level in violation of Torah commandments.
